The very special performances of the best known and most popular pieces of operatic literature make up the central core of the festival’s program.
This summer she was a Young Artist in the Classic Lyric Opera Program in Novo. The Jerusalem Lyric Opera Festival established as a flagship event to show off Jerusalem as a destination for new and unique art experiences. Workers there seemed to get time off with no questions asked which was nice that you could work remotely from home and not get doc'd time. She has had roles in operas and sung in many Voice recitals and competitions. The Rhinemaidens will be played by three current Ryan Opera Center Ensemble members: soprano Maria Novella Malfatti mezzo-soprano Katherine Beck, and mezzo. Everyone there was very nice at the end, but at the beginning a lot of the staff (at least in the department I worked in) was very judgemental and I did not have a mentor (even my own) that I felt that I could go to to ask questions or let me dive more into the field. My everyday routine was very basic - I did the same thing everyday I came in which became very repetitive and annoying. While I had percs of working here as an intern and grateful for the opportunity, I feel like I could've been included on a lot more projects compared to the amount of projects other interns were able to put on their resume. Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Joffrey Ballet will take turns performing on the Lyric Opera House stage for the first time in 2021-22, as the two major companies return to live, in-person.
Very accessible to the L and from Ogilvie, Union, etc! From Union <5 min, Ogilvie <2 min. Ultimately, the commute to and from home during my internship was what made me move to the city because the commute was a bit too long for me. I enjoyed my time as an intern and gaining the experience of working to Chicago.
